NNYSHL - Southern Conference Playoff Update

Happy New Year from the NNYSHL! Thank you to all the volunteers that have made the league tick this year. This message is regarding the playoffs. The playoffs will take place from Thursday, February 27, through Sunday, March 2. The NNYSHL has purchased several ice slots at the Bethlehem YMCA on Saturday, March 1st to accommodate several semi-final games. The league has also purchased ice at RPI’s Houston Field House on Sunday March 2nd to accommodate the championship games. Below are some of the preliminary details.

Key Points:

1. Playoff Format:

o The playoff format will be based on final league standings, which will be determined after the last regular season game on February 23rd. The top four teams in each division will make the playoffs.

o Brackets will be released no later than the evening of February 23rd.

2. Game Schedules:

o The Semi-Final Games will be scheduled on Thursday, February 27; Friday, February 28 and Saturday; March 1st. The league has reserved almost an entire day of ice at the Bethlehem YMCA to accommodate several of the Semi-Final games on March 1st.

o While we have reserved several ice slots for the semi-finals, if your organization can provide additional ice time to support the playoffs, please let us know.

3. Team Responsibilities:

o Teams must provide game-day volunteers (e.g., scorekeepers, penalty box attendants).

o Ensure rosters are finalized and all games will be scored using GameSheet.

4. Code of Conduct:

o As always, our league is committed to sportsmanship and respect. Please remind players, coaches, and spectators of their responsibilities to maintain a positive atmosphere.

5. Championship Games:

o The championship games will take place on Sunday, March 2, at Houston Field House at RPI.
